Solid build and very dense; could definitely do quite a number when striking at. Good weight to it but doesn't feel too heavy to be cumbersome. Probably should have picked up a pair to save on shipping to Australia in hindsight! Delivery was fast in less than a week! Faster than some of my domestic orders.

These 18" carbon fiber stubbies are amazing. While I am new to practicing Kali as of this year, I have several different sets of sticks of various sizes and materials. At times, I want a more discreet, compact size to use for form practice when not in the gym. Carrying around larger sticks during my commute has drawn a few skeptical looks. These allow me to walk to a gym or home without those side eyes. The stubbies check all of the boxes for the type of product I was looking to add to my collection. They are incredibly solid feeling with an excellent grip, light enough to be super quick, and clearly tough enough to withstand a beating against a variety of materials. Striking a little while with my son to test them out, we both remarked that the feel and sound is very unique. They are actually rather sharp-looking, too! It might be a while before I actually train hard with these, as--like a new car--I would like them to stay in pristine condition at least for a short time before they get scuffed up. The product shipping was quick, and the carrying case (with removable strap) were way beyond the quality I expected to receive. I am 100% satisfied with this superior product. As a first-time buyer from Budo Brothers, I expect to return. Well done!

I absolutely love my new carbon fiber stubby! It feels so light in the hands and should be able to deliver lightning fast strikes. The carrying case was a surprise. I did expect it to be so customized. Even the shoulder strap is a great addition to the setup. It is adjustable and comfortable. Budo Brothers, you knocked it out of the park! Now I have to have a set of the Ironwood sticks.

The stubble is very light and maneuverable. I actually enjoy this compare to the speed stick. I like the case and the option to carry it when walking or hiking. I now wish I bought two of the stubbies. If there is any sales coming up I’ll try to inquire for another one.

I hadn't had much experience with sticks like these before, but these ones really won me over completely.
In terms of style, material, and build quality, they are absolutely the best I have ever seen or handled.
The case/pouch is top-notch, too; it seems very durable and resistant to the elements.
I hope I happen to have them with me if I ever see our local "skilled workers" (ahem) mugging someone...
...and I get to find out what happens when you tap a little piggy bank with that tiny hammer ;-)

I hammered Budo Brothers on a different defensive tool! I Was refunded what I spent. Thought I’d never shop BB again…. i was still subscribed though and saw this and decided to give a try. First off fit finnish carrying case Awesome! Right of box Yeah BB stepped up their game!!!!
This thing is Totally Awesome easy access easy control fits in water bottle side pocket Pouch of My EDC bag. The size is Awesome, the Power it can deliver on impact is incredible. Better than an expandable baton and quicker to get into action. In a car, EDC bag, walking dog, walking running trails.
I even wore the case riding My Bike to see if I could draw it and swing! I would put one every where I could carry one.
The only thing I dont like is closure flap of the case is velco, the only reason I dont like velcro, is the noise it makes eapecially at night. Next pay check buying at least 1 more if not 2!!! You wont regret it It is Force Equalizer you can take any where and its non metalic.

Not long ago I purchased 2 Phenolic Serrada sticks that I'm really enjoying. Then the Carbon Fibre Stubbies were announced. Is that overkill? No, not at all. While all are around the same mass (304 & 300 grams / 300 & 297 grams) the two sizes and weights handle quite differently. Also, the Stubbies are rock hard and swing like lightning. Before working out with either I begin by swinging a 600+ gram metal working hammer. Each of the three designs works out my arms differently. Also, the short 18 inch design has "practical applications" beyond exercise.
